Come and enjoy a fun-filled day of shooting out at the beautiful South Florida Shooting Club! The day will kick off with a delicious breakfast followed by a few hours of riding around the picturesque course and stopping at stations to shoot clays and try to improve your score. The event will wrap up with a buffet lunch, raffles, a live auction and awards ceremony. You’ll be equipped with plenty of 12 and 20 gauge ammo. Keep Martin Beautiful hosts the Environmental Stewardship Awards as a way to recognize and reward notable efforts within the community to promote environmental stewardship and innovation through education and action. After a one-year hiatus, we are delighted to bring back the Environmental Stewardship Awards.

Kick off fall With Youth Sports

Martin County, in partnership with Ignite Sports, LLC, is offering a Pre-School Sports Program for young children. “This program is one of many that support the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department’s efforts to cultivate programs and enhance the health and well-being of our community,” said Kevin Abbate, Parks and Recreation Department Director.

The non-league, developmental and instructional program is designed for children ages three through eight and teaches fundamentals of the selected sport in a non-competitive environment. Classes will be broken into age brackets of three to five year olds and six to eight year olds. Registration is only $80.00 per child for the six-week program, with classes held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Halpatiokee Regional Park, located at 8303 SE Lost River Road in Stuart, weather permitting.

Going the Extra Mile

(Port St. Lucie, FL) With English being the most common spoken language worldwide, many non-English speakers struggle to communicate professionally and personally with others. Sadly, this is happening right here in our very own neighborhoods.

According to retired Indian River State College, ESL teacher, Dale Collins, “English serves as a bridge for success and opportunity.”

But English isn’t just about communication or professional purpose, it also gives you advantages you had never imagined. Learning English can change your life completely for the better future.

“Today, many Immigrants are forced to pass on good jobs. They give up any high hopes for a better future. Consequently, unable to break the cycle of poverty,” explained Collins.

The retired teacher has decided to go the extra mile and help people who are struggling to learn the English language.

English classes are free and will be offered on Friday evenings, from 7 pm – 9 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Port St. Lucie, 2240 S.E. Walton Road.
